How to Free Yourself from Limitations

There is one statement, along with a few others, that Seth constantly stresses in the Seth material: 

  THE PRESENT IS THE POINT OF POWER.

In practical terms, this is one of the most important sentences uttered by Seth. The thoughts we think, the emotions we feel, the intentions we form, the beliefs we accept or change, the expectations we have, and the choices we make every present moment will determine what life experiences we will encounter in the “future”. Those experiences are activated at that moment, in that present. We do have the power to a large degree, to create the kind of reality we want to materialize or manifest. That reality arises out of every present moment based on our conscious decisions and actions. It is the very process of this manifestation and materialization that the so called, age old, “Law of Attraction” attempts to describe.

Sometimes slogans like “matching the vibrational frequencies” are used as a way of simplifying an explanation of this process. This arises out of the fact that all thought and emotion does propagate from their source as a wave, to use a physics term. In that context, every wave has a vibrational frequency, amplitude, and a speed of propagation. All waves then have an associated energy. Just as light travels from a point source as an electromagnetic wave of energy, Seth contended, and modern research by some scientists has confirmed, that thought energy does the same. Nikalo Tesla, a past great scientist, is quoted as saying:  

If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.”   



Radio, TV, Wi-Fi, and cell phone signals carry communications in a similar manner. If you want to understand the signal that is traveling in your direction, you must have a receiver that can tune in, or match the vibrational frequency of the signal you wish to receive, and then transform that signal into sound waves. The transformation is done via the device you are using. Your ear receives the sound waves and then it is converted into electrical impulses by your body that travels to the brain – and eureka – we have magic! 

We can be grateful that we have such a variety of incoming electromagnetic signals to choose from among all those that are being broadcast. We have the power to choose what we listen to, watch and accept into our minds. The information and communication signals we accept are filtered through our conscious minds and beliefs and then allowed to be stored in our unconscious or subconscious minds. We are constantly accepting either new data or reinforcing old data previously accepted. This is all a part of the process of natural hypnosis.

“Since your conscious beliefs determine those unconscious functions that bring about your personal experience, your first step is to enlarge those beliefs.

Within your own subjective reality are traces of all those roads not taken and all those abilities not used. You may think of yourself as primarily a parent, or mainly in terms of your job or profession. As much as possible for now, for this exercise, forget the normal familiar light in which you see yourself, and consider your entire identity as you do the following exercise.” There will be a form on another post to provide you a copy to use for this exercise.

1.       Write down all of your known physical abilities, no matter how trivial you think they may be, and whether or not they have been fully developed.

2.       Likewise, write down all of your known mental abilities, no matter how trivial you think they are, even if they have not been fully developed.

3.       Write down all of the inclinations you have had toward particular activities, even those you have only remotely considered along with those that have come vividly to your mind.

“The lists you have written down represent the varied probable characteristics from which you have chosen to activate your particular main interest. Out of all these attributes, you have chosen what you now consider to be your hard-bed reality.

To follow any of these directions, can enrich your existence and experience that you know, and in turn open up other probabilities that now escape you. The main image of yourself that you have held has, to a large extent, also closed your mind to these other probable interests and identifications.

If you think in terms of a multidimensional self, then you will realize that you have many more avenues open to expression and fulfillment than you have been using. These probable achievements will lie latent unless you consciously decide to bring them into being.

Whatever talents you sense you have can be developed only if you determine to do so. The simple act ofdecision will then activate the unconscious mechanisms. You as a personality, regardless of your health, wealth or circumstances, have a rich variety of probable experience from which to choose.

Consciously you must realize this and seize the direction for your own life. Even if you say “I will go along with all life offers”, you are making a conscious decision. If you say, “I am powerless to direct my life”, you are also making a deliberate choice – and in that case a limiting one. 

The path of experience is nowhere settled. There is no one road that does not have avenues to another. There are deep veins of probable actions ever available to you at any given time. Your imagination can be of great value, allowing you to open yourself to such courses; you can then use it to help you bring these into being.

If you are poor, you chose that reality from many probable ones that did not involve poverty – and that are still open. If you chose illness, again, there is a probable reality ready for initiation in which you choose health. If you are lonely there are probable friends you refused to meet in the past, but who are readily available.

In your mind, then, see those probable abilities or events taking place. As you do, the intensity of your desire brings them into your experience.  There are no boundaries set about the self. There are literally many other probable “yous”. You can draw upon their abilities, as in their own way they call upon your own, for you are all intimately connected.

You must realize that you are indeed a probable you. Your experience is the result of beliefs. Your neuronal structure necessitates a certain focus, so that other experiences counter to your conscious assumptions, remain probable or latent.

Alter the beliefs and any probable self can, within certain limitations, be actualized.

But do realize, when you try to change your convictions in order to change your experience, you also have to first stop the momentum that you have already built up. You are changing the messages while the body is used to reacting smoothly, unquestionably, to a certain set of beliefs, due to the natural hypnosis that was put in place by the conscious mind surrounding those past beliefs.

There is a steady even flow in which conscious activity through the neurological structure brings about events.  When you alter these conscious beliefs through effort, then a period of time is necessary while the structure learns to adjust to the new preferred situation. If beliefs are changed overnight, comparatively less time is required.

 THE PRESENTIS THE POINT OF POWER.


In a manner of speaking, each belief can be seen as a powerful station, pulling, or attracting to it, from fields of probabilities, only those signals to which it is attuned, and blocking out all others.” 

Another way of saying this is that the Law of Attraction works when the vibrational frequency of that which you desire, matches the vibrational frequency of your beliefs and any limiting beliefs have been tuned out. Some express this condition as being in “alignment”. 

You must remember:

Your present beliefs govern the actualization of events.

Creativity and experience are being formed moment by moment by each individual. You must understand that your present is the point at which flesh and matter meet with the spirit. Therefore, the present is your point of power in your current lifetime, as you think of it. It is from that moment in the present which you choose – “Which You and Which World?”.

 If you assign greater force to the past, then you will feel ineffective and deny yourself your own energy.

·         To close this exercise, “sit with your eyes wide open, looking about you, and realize that this moment represents the point of your power, through which you can affect both past and future events. The present seen before you, with its intimate physical experience, is the result of action in other such presents. Do not be intimidated therefore by the past or the future. There is no need at all for undesirable aspects of contemporary reality to be projected into the future, unless you use the power of the present to do so.”

Know also that there is a constant interaction in this multidimensional point of power, so that in your terms, one incarnated self draws from all of the others what abilities it wants, according to its own specific localized beliefs.”

Natural Hypnosis: Accepting Desired New Beliefs 

“Many people assign great power to a hypnotist, yet whenever you have the undivided attention of another; you act as a hypnotist to a large degree.

Whenever you have your own undivided attention you act as a hypnotist and subject simultaneously. You give yourselves post-hypnotic suggestions all the time, particularly when you project present conditions into the future. Suggestions that you give yourselves constantly operate overall as beliefs that are reflected in your experience. 

Habitual thought patterns of either positive or negative aspects backed up by resulting action, or conditioned behavior, will be brought into your own life experience through what can be called natural hypnosis. This process is a natural function of your mind. I want to impress upon you the fact that all of this simply follows the natural function of the mind, and to dispel any ideas that you have about the “magical” aspects of hypnosis.” – (NPR S658)

This exercise will help you affect a positive change in any area of your life experience for which you feel dissatisfaction. The change will come about when you accept an empowering belief about the area of concern, and then let the old limiting belief you held previously fade away. As you do this exercise, you will be activating new biological patterns in your body. 

Pick one area of importance and make that the focus of the exercise each time you do it for a designated number of days.  When you begin to see results in that area, then choose another area or belief to work with.

EXERCISE 

1.       For 5 or 10 minutes a day at the most, use this method of natural hypnosis to accept into your subconscious, any desired new belief. Select one single, positive, empowering statement that summarizes the new belief you desire to accept.

2.       Once you are relaxed and feel centered, concentrate your attention as vividly as possible upon this statement. Visualize this statement on the screen of your mind express visually any way you feel comfortable with.

3.       Repeat this one single statement over and over while focusing upon it visually for this 5-10 minute time period.

4.       Feel the emotion of this statement in whatever way is possible for you – visualize the expression of joy and satisfaction you will emote when this has become a truth in your life. Your emotions are the element that gives this statement power.

5.       If you mind insists at first on wandering and running about, channel its images in line with your declaration. Visualize the results of it in your life in as many ways as possible at this time. Do this exercise with an “easy attitude” about it, without straining.

6.       Do this exercise as a “stand alone” exercise – do not include it at the same time, consecutively with other similar exercises. Each exercise should be carried out on separate occasions during any one day.

7.       Repeat the exercise for 3 days, without concern, and then reflect on your feeling about the wording of your suggestion. You may need to alter the wording until you are comfortable with it. When you feel you have the right wording for you, then continue using it. Some time will be needed to see the changes desired to be evident in your materialization.

8.       You need to continue the exercise until inner channels of neurological and biological patterns become re-patterned. Your own feeling will be your individual guide.

“Research has revealed that for some people, 3 weeks may be required. For others, there may be very quick results evidenced. If you do see quick results, continue the exercise. But, there is no need to do the exercise for more than 10 minutes on any occasion of working with it. Trust in the process – it is a natural process being put under conscious control.

Some people, for their own reasons, begin to believe in: 

·         Illness more than health.
·         Poverty more than abundance.
·         Loneliness rather than affection.
·         War rather than Peace.
·         Physical reality is the only reality rather than just one version of reality. ·         Authority figures instead of trusting their personal validity and wisdom.


The beliefs of your conscious minds are followed in degree by all portions of the self – down to the smallest molecules and atoms. Your beliefs generate the proper feelings and imaginative endeavors characteristic of them. You hypnotize your very nerves, and the cells within your body, and they will react as you expect then to react. The unconscious accepts those orders given to it by the conscious mind.

If you are dissatisfied with the results in some area of your life, question the orders that you are giving in that particular arena of experience. The results may not seem to follow your conscious desires, but you will find, that they do follow your conscious beliefs, which may be quite different. When you set your longing against a present belief, there will always be conflict.

In hypnosis, the conscious mind is focused, intensified, and narrowed to a specific area – all other stimuli are cut out. This intensity of conscious concentration cuts down barriers and allows the messages to go directly to the unconscious, where they are acted upon.

The hypnotist is important in that he/she acts as a direct representative of authority. The hypnotist acts as a parent substitute. Society has traditionally taught you to look to authority figures for answers.”  

You are now learning to be your own authority. “You are gods in training”.”

NATURAL HYPNOSIS: “YOU ARE YOUR OWN HYPNOTIST” 

The following exercise will show you how you can utilize natural hypnosis in your daily life to better your experience. At the end of this summary you will find a separate worksheet that you can copy and work with if you are serious about making positive changes.

  “In those areas in which you are dissatisfied, you feel that you are powerless, or that your will is paralyzed, or that conditions continue despite what you think of as your intent. Yet, if you pay attention to your own quite conscious thoughts, you will find that you are concentrating upon precisely those negative aspects that so appall you. You are hypnotizing yourself quite effectively and so reinforcing the situation.  

You may say horrified, “What can I do? I am hypnotizing myself into my overweight condition (or my loneliness, or my poor health).” Yet in other facets of your life you may be hypnotizing yourself into wealth, accomplishment, satisfaction – and here you do not complain. The same issues are involved. The same principles are operating. In those positive life situations you are certain of your initiative. There is no doubt. Your beliefs become reality.  

In the unsatisfactory aspects, you must understand this: There is also no doubt. You are utterly convinced that you are sick, or poor, or lonely, or spiritually opaque, or unhappy.  

The results then, as easily and effortlessly follow. Natural hypnosis, in the terms given here, operates as well in one case as the other. What should you do then?

First, you must realize that you are your own hypnotist, inducing natural hypnosis. You must seize the initiative here as you have in other positive aspects of your life. Whatever the superficial reasons for your beliefs, you must say:

  ·  For a certain amount of time I will momentarily suspend what I believe in this area, and willfully accept the belief I want, I will pretend that I am under hypnosis, with myself as hypnotist and subject. For that time desire and belief will be one. There will be no conflict because I do this willingly. For this period I will completely alter my old beliefs. Even though I sit quietly, in my mind I will act as if the belief I want were mine completely.

Ø  If you feel that you are overweight, insert the weight that you think is ideal for you while you are following this exercise.

Ø  Imagine that you are healthy if you have the belief that you are not.

Ø  If you are lonely, believe that you are filled with the feeling of companionship instead.

Ø  If you are feeling poor, imagine that all of your financial needs are being met.

Ø  At this point do not think of the future, but only of the present.  

Ø  Realize that you are exerting your initiative to imagine such situations. Here there can be no comparisons with your normal situation. Do not compare the normal situation with that desired vision you hold. Use visual data, and/or words – whatever is most natural and comfortable for you as being as you desire. Only about 10 minutes is required at a time, once per day.

·   If you do this faithfully, within a month you will find the new conditions materializing in your experience. Your neurological structures will respond automatically. The unconscious will be aroused, bringing its greater powers to bear, bringing you the new results.

·    Do not obsess constantly over this exercise. Do not try to overdo this, to go through the entire day worrying about beliefs, for example. This can only cause you to contrast what you have with what you want. Forget the exercise when it is completed.

·    You will find yourself with impulses that arrive in line with these newly inserted beliefs, and then it is up to you to act on these and not ignore them. The initiative must be yours. You will never know unless you try the exercise.

Now, if you are in poor health, and have a physician, you had better continue going to them, because you still rely on that system of belief – but use these exercises as supplements to build up your own sense of inner health, and to protect you against any negative suggestions given by your doctor. Utilize the belief in physicians since you have it.

The point of power is in the present. You must thoroughly understand that, and then you can take hold of your life and begin to use natural hypnosis for your benefit in all areas. It works advantageously for each of you now in those portions of your lives with which you are pleased.

In all situations, it is highly important that you do not concentrate your main attention in that area of experience with which you are least satisfied. This acts as a deepening of hypnotic suggestion. Just reminding yourself of your other accomplishments will by itself operate in a constructive fashion, even if nothing else is done. Such focus of attention on positive aspects automatically pulls your energy away from the problem. It also builds up your own sense of worth and power as you are reminded of adequate performance at other levels of experience.

Whenever you are trying to rid yourself of a dilemma, make sure that you do not concentrate your attention upon it instead -  concentrating your attention on your dilemma acts to cut out other data, and to further intensify your focus upon your difficulty. When you break that focus, the problem is solved.

In any area, great clues can be received simply through paying more attention to the conscious thoughts that you have during the day, for each of them serve as minute suggestions, modifying your behavioral patterns and affecting bodily mechanisms and other perceived “facts” about your life.”
